R4i Gold Plus FAQ
Q: How do I upgrade R4i Gold Plus?
A: Download the new kernel and extract the file, then there will be a "SYSTEM" folder and r4.DAT a core file, paste the files into the root directory of the TF card to replace the original kernel file.
Q: The R4i card cannot be found when running the console (just like there is no card in the console)!
A: Please try to plug and insert the R4i card to check if the gold finger part is dirty and damaged.
Q: The screen always shows "Loading", "Couldn't find the SD / TF card" or "SD / TF card error"!
A: Please try to plug and insert the TF card to check if the gold finger part of the TF card is damaged.
Q: Only display "MENU"!?
A: Check the TF card kernel to make sure if it is installed correctly. The correct installation way is to put the "r4.DAT" file into the root directory of the TF card. If the problem still appears, format the TF card, and reinstall the kernel.
Q: Why does it go into the slot2 card when I use the R4i card and slot2 card at the same time?
A: This is because the machine used ever brushed Flashme. Previously slot2 card is in majority, so Flashme sets the slot2 card as high-priority to operate. If you want to enter R4, then press "SELECT" when running the console, and you can change the R4i card to the high-priority.
Q: When I enter the game, there appears a black screen or white screen!
A: After the official test: can enter 0001--5821 successfully (v1.4 kernel), with no black or white screen phenomenon (a small amount of games may have black screen or white screen phenomenon after the completion of loading, this condition is normal). Individual games have anti-burn recording functions, such as 3538, you need to do anti-burn patch or turn on the archive check avoiding code of "Action Replay Cheat" . Then if you still have problems of black or white screen, first check the ROM (because a lot of ROMs are Bad dump), please re-download to try it.
Q: R4i support slot2 games?
A: All current Slot-1 flash cards do not support slot2 games running, R4i does not support too.
Q: Use moonshell to play MP3, there is the phenomenon that sound may be locked!
A: Moonshell supports the resume function (that is, go back to the previous playback position), every 5 seconds to write a record point. If the card speed is not fast enough, it will lead to the MP3 player's being locked. You can delete the resume.sav file under the shell directory or rename the file, without using the resume function.
Q: Use moonshell to play some DPG movies, there is the locking phenomenon!
A: Moonshell starting from version 1.5 can support the new movie format DPG2, but use the V1.5 to play DPG2, there is the locking phenomenon. V 2.10 optimizes the format, so you can use moonshell v2.10 to play (the official website offers the new kernel).
Q: When playing Castlevania, there is the system halt phenomenon!
A: Castlevania's demanding on the card speed is very high. Even with the genuine card, there may also be system halt phenomenon. The official advice is to use original 4G \ 8G \ 16G high speed card to reduce the system halt phenomenon. As there is the existence of counterfeiting and parallel TF card, if conditions permit, you can bring the games to test the TF card to known more precisely.
Q: Why is there the phenomenon of inaccurate touch?
A: First, go to the console's system interface to do "touch calibration". Then, some of the films are not good enough so that there may be the inaccurate touch phenomenon (which can also be felt in the game, especially near the edge of the screen). You can also re-film if condition permits. Finally, the official MENU will consider the problem of inaccurate touch, use the method of using touch plus keys or using large area of touch to avoid this problem.
Q: Why does the system crash in certain locations or certain using methods in Chinese Version or Hack Edition games?
A: Chinese Version and Hack Edition have modified the original version of the game, so there are some problems existing possibly. Suggest going to the Chinese Version or Hack Edition forum to see if it is a known problem.
Q: How is the compatibility of the R4i card with the Chinese Version games?
A: R4i official has tested the Chinese Version games collected (with v1.4 kernel). (ROM is downloaded from the network, but we cannot exclude that there are some problems in certain location or the using method, which may cause system halt).
Q: How to use the archive? Can I backup my archive?
A: You can backup archive.
Q: Archive has been damaged? A: There are 2 possible reasons also: First, the archive is damaged indeed. Second, if the archive is copy from the other type of flash card, it can't run directly before being converted via appointed software.
Q: Failed to create archive?
A: There are 2 possible reasons: One is the TF card has no enough space; Second: to the FAT16 OS, the root directory has a maximal file amount: 512(long file name will take more space), that means the surplus amount must be more than the amount that going to be created. If the space is not enough, suggest using FAT32 format.
